The most famous Titan is Cronus, who is actually the youngest, but he was the one to stand up and defeat Uranus. He did this by castrating him with a sickle given to him by his mother Gaia, who was fed up with Cronos forcing her to hold all her children in her belly, she wanted them out already. Cronus married his sister Titan Rhea and they gave birth to the Olympian Gods who would eventually overthrow them. Other Titans along with Cronos and Rhea, include; Oceanus (Ocean), Tethys, Hyperion, Mnemosyne, Themis, Iapetus, Theia, Coeus, Phoebe and Crius. All the Titans pop up through Greek Mythology however, some are more popular than others. The Titans were defeated after a 10 year long war with the Olympian Gods, after which all who fought against the Olympians were chained up and kept in Tartarus.
